Update/Flash Dlink Router Firmware


A router is the most important part of an internet connection. In recent days every house, broadband connection connects with the router. So maintain the touter is also mandatory for continuous internet connection. In this blog, I will guide how to flash a Dlink wifi router.

My wifi router is not working condition. All the lights are on except wifi LED and the Internet LED. And the power led is blinking.




After some research, I will discover the problem of the router can be solvable, So how I solve this problem, let's begin.

1. First, download the firmware from the official website. In my case download from Dlink website
  (DIR600L)

2. Then connect router any  LAN port using CAT5 or CAT6 cable with PC (Remember to use a physical connection, not wireless connection)

3. Open your PC and go to Start ->Settings -> Network and Internet -> Ethernet -> Change adapter option ->Right click on Ethernet -> Select Properties->in Networking tab select ->Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) . Then select Properties, in General, tab select obtain the IP address.
Input the IP between your router IP range which is found in the backside in your router. 
In Dlink router (DIR600L) 

The IP range is 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.255

I set it to 192.168.0.10 for IP Address
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
The default gateway is the router IP address 192.168.0.1 


And select  Use the following DNS server address:

Then press OK and close all the tab.

4. Open any browser in your computer, and in an address bar type default IP address which was found the lower side of your router. In my case for Dlink router 192.168.0.1 and press enter.

5. After pressing the enter button you will come to routers recover webpage like this



6. Then chose the firmware .bin  file which was download from the official website press the upload button.  In this process, the router will automatically restart many times.       
That's all you will almost complete. You will see this type of image.



7. After complete 100%, the router lights act as normal. then release the IP from your network adapter and set it Obtain IP automatically (It's important).

8. Then Rest router using press the hole with thin metal wire, and hold it up to 10 seconds. 
     The router will restart.

9.   Then open the browser and type router default IP address and press enter key. you will redirect to
      the router login page with Admin rights.



Username :- Admin
Passowrd :-                 (Blank)
                          
      and press enter. That's all you will successfully flash you nonworking router.
